September 2019

Dear Fisherfolk,

Keith came to the Trout House today and announced that this week was a palindrome week. He wrote out 9/10/19, 9/11/19, 9/12/19, 9/13/19, 9/14/19, 9/15/19, 9/16/19, 9/17/19... Ezra was so impressed. "Maybe you're the first one to notice this pattern! You're a genius!" Keith expressed serious doubt to that statement. After looking on the internet, we found many articles on palindrome weeks and days. Still, how many of you have spontaneously thought of something like this?

We're just back from Michael Hearne's Big Barn Dance. What an amazing festival it is! And this year it was sold out! There were many stand out moments and performances over the weekend. A highlight for us was getting Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines up with us to do their song The Lowdown. We've been playing that song for a while and love it! (You can hear this song on our Live at the Epic CD). The songwriting and performances at the festival were stellar. If you get a chance to go, Taos in September is just lovely and the music is terrific. And speaking of "Live at the Epic", we only have 10 copies left so get yours soon!

We are gearing up for our upcoming dates in Texas. We have some new and some "old new" material to play. Ezra has a new guitar to replace the one that was smashed by the airlines and he's pretty pumped about playing it. It's almost unimaginable to think that we've been writing songs and playing together since 1976. We've traveled well over two million miles doing this. The airlines have given us our million mile advantage cards and if you count up the mileage on all of our vehicles you get over a million on them as well. Our various trusty transports, Robert Red Ford 540,000 miles. Stretch, 470,000, Whitey Ford 314,231 and counting. When you add all the mileage up you get 1,324,231. Hey. That's a palindrome! What does it mean?!
