March 2024
Dear Fisherfolk,
We've had quite a lot of time off from the road here recently. Our plan is to avoid icy and snowy roads and stay in our cozy Ozark homes. It's been really nice up here in Arkansas. The peeper frogs are singing their soprano songs celebrating the coming of spring. The tiniest of buds are starting to pop out of the winged elm trees in our woods. The Grimwoods have tilled their vegetable garden twice already in preparation for the annual St. Patrick's Day planting of the potatoes! We've also been down in the studio working on album projects for the Schubert Brothers, Barbara Jarrell, and Love Seat. Time off up here isn't really time off. We stay busy!
Our calendar is about to really heat up. We're preparing to hit the road hard starting with a trip to Poor David's Pub in Dallas on March 16th. On March 21st - 23rd, we take a whirlwind tour to Tallahassee, St. Augustine, Inverness, and Tavares Florida where we'll be playing some new venues and visiting some of our longtime favorite places to play. Ezra is especially looking forward to having one of Zeke Williams' grilled cheese sandwiches! Zeke makes his grilled cheese with several different kinds of cheese on homemade sourdough bread. This underrated gastronomical delight is cooked to perfection on a griddle and served with love.
When we get to April, we'll be all over the map. Starting in Virginia, our trip will take us to Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival! This our sixth or seventh appearance at one of the premier music festivals in the world. It's quite an honor for us. Visit our tour page for ticket links and more information.
Troutfully yours,
Keith and Ezra
